			<image:caption>On August 18, 2024, the area around Connecticut&apos;s Spruce Brook Falls received between 8 and 16 inches of rain in just a few hours, causing locally catastrophic flooding. &amp;nbsp;I had last visited Spruce Brook several years earlier and remembered it as a bright green, moss-covered gorge. &amp;nbsp;When I returned the following spring, it looked like a completely different place. &amp;nbsp;The moss on the rock faces along the creek had been washed away, revealing the banded gneiss beneath. &amp;nbsp;Much of the soil on the upper banks was gone as well, leaving exposed roots of trees and other plants. &amp;nbsp;It will likely be years before the area looks as it did before the flood, but in the meantime, we can enjoy the newly revealed stone and watch the landscape recover. &amp;nbsp;Fine Art Limited Edition of 50. </image:caption>
